Whether you're an educator looking to create a private classroom community, an educational institution wanting to create a public group for your students, or a user looking to connect with other Little You 3D creators, Groups make it easy to share, discover, and organize creative work.

In this guide, we'll walk you through how to create a group, join groups, and manage group members and creations.

All Users: Join a Public Group

For all users, you can join any group that has been made publicly discoverable.

To join a group:

  1. Search for the name of the group.

  2. Find the group you'd like to join.

  3. Click Join.

As a general user, you can:

  • Join groups

  • Leave groups

  • View other members’ creations

💡 Want to create a public group? Let us know! Send us the group name you'd like to see, and we may create it just for you :)

Educators: Activate Your Educator Account

Group creation and management are available exclusively to approved educator accounts.

If you're an educator and would like to create a group for your class, please visit our Education page and fill out the form to request a free educator account.

Create Your Own Group

From the Groups section, click the + button to create a new group.

Choose a Unique Group Name

Enter a name for your group.

Please note that each group name must be unique. If another group already uses the exact same name, you'll need to choose a different name.

Add a Group Description

Next, add a description for your group.

Use the description to include class name, project information, grade level, or other helpful instructions.

This is a great place to explain what your group is about and provide helpful information for students or other members.

Choose Your Group Privacy Setting

You can choose whether your group is Public or Private.

Public Group

Public Groups are open to everyone and anyone to search and join.

Public groups can be used for:

  • Open classroom projects

  • Community activities

  • Public creative challenges

  • Groups that welcome new members

Private Group

Private Groups are passcode-protected groups that you create.

You can then share the passcode with students or users you want to join the group.

Private groups are especially useful for classrooms where you want to limit access to a specific group of individuals.

Tip: If you're creating a group for your class, make sure students know the correct group name and, if applicable, the private group passcode.

Manage Your Group

After your group has been created, it will appear on your Groups page.

As an educator and group administrator, you can modify your group's settings, including:

  • Group name

  • Group description

  • Public or private visibility

  • View members who have joined the group

  • Remove users from the group

  • Delete the group

You can update these settings as your class or project changes.

View Your Group Members

Click into a group to view the list of users who have joined.

You can then click a user's name to view their publicly shared creations. This lets you discover the creative work students have shared online and see how many creations each user has published.

Important: Only Publicly Shared Creations Are Visible Online

If you're using Little You 3D with students, make sure they share their creations to the public gallery if they want their work to be discoverable online.

If a creation isn’t shared to the gallery, it won’t be visible online. Students can adjust this setting under Creations by simply enabling the option to share to the gallery.

Create Your Classroom Community with Little You 3D

Little You 3D Groups make it easy for educators to create a dedicated space where students can connect with classmates, discover inspiration from other students’ 3D designs, and share their own creative work.

Whether you're creating a private classroom group or opening a public creative community, Groups can help bring your students' digital creations together in one place.
